Shocking Revelations: UFC’s Exploitation of Fighters Exposed

The MMAFA, an organization dedicated to the rights of MMA fighters, recently presented damning evidence against the UFC’s treatment of its athletes. During a meeting of the Association of Boxing Commissions, the MMAFA highlighted the UFC’s low revenue share and its corrupt practices. This exposé has sent shockwaves through the MMA community.

According to the MMAFA, the UFC dominates the sport of MMA and rakes in massive profits while paying its fighters significantly less. In 2015, the promotion generated $609 million in revenue but only shared around 19% of that with fighters. Shockingly, despite a staggering increase in revenue to $1.14 billion in 2022, the percentage given to fighters dropped to a mere 13%. This means that while the UFC’s profits soared, fighters were left with a smaller piece of the pie.

The MMAFA also revealed that UFC fighter pay actually decreased from $148 million in 2016 to an estimated $146 million in 2022. In contrast, the UFC made a net profit of $387 million in 2022, surpassing the combined profits of all other MMA and boxing promotions. This stark disparity raises serious questions about the UFC’s treatment of its athletes.

The presentation further exposed the UFC’s top executives, including President Dana White, Endeavour CEO Ari Emanuel, and former owners Lorenzo Fertitta and Frank Fertitta. The MMAFA claimed that these individuals have amassed more wealth than all fighters in UFC history combined. This revelation highlights the vast wealth disparity between the promotion’s leadership and its fighters.

Moreover, the MMAFA shed light on the UFC’s manipulation of the MMA industry. The presentation outlined how the promotion has used its dominant position to control fighters and exploit their talents. One shocking example involved former UFC matchmaker Joe Silva allegedly instructing Gray Maynard to break Roger Huerta’s arm. This incident exemplifies the UFC’s power over its fighters and the lengths it will go to maintain control.

The MMAFA’s ultimate goal is to represent all professional MMA fighters and coaches, advocating for better pay, fair contracts, and the protection of fighter names and likenesses. They aim to prevent promotions like the UFC from profiting off fighters without sharing the benefits.

The MMAFA’s presentation has ignited a firestorm within the MMA community, prompting calls for change and fair treatment of fighters. It remains to be seen how the UFC will respond to these damning allegations, but one thing is clear: the exploitation of fighters cannot be ignored any longer.
