The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is set to kick off the 2023 PFL Playoffs with thrilling matchups in the featherweight and light heavyweight divisions. Taking place on August 4th at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas, fight fans can expect an action-packed night of MMA.
In the main event, top-seeded Bubba “Bad Man” Jenkins from the United States will face off against fourth-seeded Jesus “El Mudo” Pinedo from Peru in a catchweight semifinal bout. Pinedo missed weight during the weigh-ins, resulting in a 20-percent purse forfeiture to Jenkins. Despite the setback, both fighters are determined to put on a show and secure their spot in the finals.
The co-main event features a showdown between 2022 semifinalist and number one seed Joshua Silveira, also from the United States, and fellow American Ty “Big Medicine” Flores in a light heavyweight semifinal contest. Silveira, weighing in at 204 pounds, will look to utilize his skills and experience to overcome Flores, who makes his first appearance in the PFL Playoffs.
