Stamp Fairtex’s Quest for Gold
This Friday, ONE Championship star Stamp Fairtex will have the opportunity to claim her second title in the world of MMA. Known for her success in both Muay Thai and Kickboxing, the 25-year-old fighter will face off against UFC veteran Seo Hee Ham for the interim atomweight championship in Singapore. This interim title match comes as a result of Angela Lee’s absence from the sport following her sister’s tragic passing and her own personal struggles.
Stamp Fairtex’s first chance at gold came when she competed against Angela Lee after winning the promotion’s atomweight grand prix in 2021. Unfortunately, she was submitted in the second round. Reflecting on that experience, Stamp acknowledges the importance of emotional control and the need to focus more on MMA as a whole.
Stamp, who represents the renowned Fairtex gym, made her U.S. debut earlier this year, impressing fans and gaining a significant following. She expressed her enthusiasm for the possibility of training in the U.S. again, as she values the experience and knowledge she gains from training with local women athletes.
Transitioning from pure striking to mixed martial arts presented its own set of challenges for Stamp. She had to devote more time to training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and takedowns, pushing herself harder than ever before.
