At the young age of 13, Faheem Zahoor from Wanipora Saloora, Ganderbal, has become a shining example of dedication, resilience, and passion in the realm of martial arts.

In 2017, Faheem embarked on his martial arts journey, exploring various disciplines such as Taekwondo, Thai boxing, boxing, Wushu, and more. His determination and hard work paid off when he secured a Gold medal in Thai boxing in Hyderabad, foreshadowing the extraordinary path he would tread.

Transitioning to Pencak Silat in 2021, Faheem actively participated in numerous district and state championships, showcasing his skills and talent. His efforts reached new heights at the 11th National Pre-Teen, Pre-Junior, and Junior Championship in Patna, Bihar (Nov 23-26, 2023).

Faheem’s journey to success began at the district-level Pencak Silat Championship 2023 held at Govt Degree College Ganderbal (June 24-26), where he clinched a well-deserved Gold medal. He continued to excel at the state-level championship at Sheri Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar (Sept 23-25, 2023), emerging victorious and earning the honor of representing his state at the national level.

The pinnacle of Faheem’s achievements came at the National Championship in Patna, where he proudly secured a Bronze medal. Reflecting on his success, Faheem acknowledges the unwavering support and motivation provided by his coach, Murtaza Bhat, and his family.

In Faheem’s own words, "I express my gratitude to my coach, all members of Pencak Silat Ganderbal, and my parents. Their constant encouragement has been pivotal to this success."
