Khamzat Chimaev’s Victory at UFC 294

UFC middleweight fighter Khamzat Chimaev emerged victorious in a thrilling match against Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 held in Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena. However, Chimaev suspects that he may have suffered a broken right hand during the fight.

Chimaev dominated the first round, displaying his superior skills. Unfortunately, he was unable to maintain the same level of aggression in the subsequent rounds due to the potential hand injury.

According to Chimaev, ‘First round, I think I broke my hand and finger. I couldn’t punch hard with my right hand. My right hand is a big weapon. When you can’t use it, it’s hard to work.’

Despite the injury, Chimaev secured the victory with scores of 29-27, 29-27, and 28-28. Usman managed to win the second round unanimously, while one judge scored the third round in his favor.

Chimaev, who hails from Chechnya and fights out of Dubai, plans to have his hand examined soon. UFC president Dana White has confirmed that Chimaev is now in line to face middleweight champion Sean Strickland.

Chimaev expressed his determination, saying, ‘I will check my hand. If it’s good, I’m gonna try to lift the weights and be ready for the next one.’
