Main event of UFC 242 Khabib vs Poririer gave us another dominant performance of current champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov was perfect in executing his plan which was wrestle as much as possible. He was not allowing Dustin to go in stand-up exchange, every time when Dustin was trying to find his tempo Khabib was stopping that either with his movement and punches from weird angles or he was putting Dustin down.
After the second round, Dustin said to his corner something like, “… i can not take him of of me..”.
However, in 3rd round Dustin pulled guard and catch Khabib in a deep guillotine choke but he could not completely locked it out, Khabib’s body was free and he rolled out of it ending up on top of Poirier who was exhausted in this moment from the guillotine attempt. Khaibib slowly prepared his choke, and this time Poirier needed to tap.
Khabib stopped Poirier via rear naked choke in 2:06 of round three.
