Bellator’s First Event of 2024
Bellator’s first event of 2024 is scheduled to take place on March 22 in Belfast, Ireland. This event marks the first under the ownership of Professional Fighters League (PFL). Although the venue and broadcast plans have not been revealed yet, fans are eagerly anticipating an exciting night of fights.
The main event will feature former UFC light heavyweight Corey Anderson taking on Karl Moore for the vacant Light Heavyweight title. This title was left behind by former champion Vadim Nemkov, who will now be competing in the Heavyweight division.
Anderson is coming off a split-decision victory over Phil Davis at Bellator 297 last summer. This win was a much-needed redemption for Anderson after failing to capture the title from Nemkov at Bellator 288. Their first fight at Bellator 277 was ruled a No Contest due to an accidental clash of heads.
Moore, on the other hand, has been undefeated inside the Bellator cage, winning his first four fights with the promotion. Fighting out of Northern Ireland, Belfast, Moore recently secured a unanimous decision win over Alex Polizzi at Bellator 297, bringing his professional record to an impressive 12-2.
The winner of this fight will not only defend the title throughout the year under the Bellator banner but also position themselves for a potential champion vs. champion showdown against PFL’s 205-pound champion, Impa Kasanganay. Kasanganay will be dropping down to Middleweight to face Johnny Eblen next month.
