During the Canelo vs Crawford final press conference yesterday, hosted by UFC president Dana White. White was asked questions that he had never been asked before for a long while.
For context, in the early UFC days, the organization did not have a hold on the media like today.
They didn’t have the option to be selective with questions and publications, so seeing a pissed
Dana White at the press conference was considered the norm.
Today, UFC journalists consist of a bunch of yes men who ask the most softball questions to
fighters as well as Dana White.
So yesterday, when Dana White got the mic at Canelo vs Crawford press conference, a boxing journalist asked Dana why he is making changes to the “Muhammad Ali Reform Act that is meant to protect fighters, and bring in the UFC model that takes away power from the fighter.
And at that moment, we got the old Dana White back. White’s response: “Listen, if you want to be an a**hole, let’s do it in private, and we can do an interview.
“Meanwhile, Canelo chanted “fight, fight, fight”.
