PFL vs. Bellator MMA Mega Event
Professional Fighters League (PFL) and Bellator MMA are joining forces for an epic showdown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The first-ever PFL vs. Bellator MMA "Champions vs. Champions" mega event will take place on February 24, 2024, at Kingdom Arena. This stacked pay-per-view (PPV) event will feature four title fights, showcasing the best fighters from each promotion.
PFL acquired Bellator MMA earlier this year, making waves in the MMA world. While both promotions will continue to operate independently, the highly-anticipated "champions vs. champions" mega events were announced. Now, the first wave of massive title fights has been revealed.
Main Event: Heavyweight Title Fight
The main event will be a clash of champions as PFL’s Renan Ferreira takes on Bellator’s Ryan Bader. Ferreira recently won the 2023 PFL championship with a knockout victory over Denis Goltsov. Bader, on the other hand, is coming off a second knockout win over Fedor Emelianenko at Bellator 290.
Welterweight Showdown
Magomed Magomedkerimov, a two-time PFL Welterweight season winner, will face off against Bellator’s newest champion, Jason Jackson. Jackson secured the 170-pound strap by defeating Yaroslav Amosov at Bellator 301.
Featherweight Battle
Jesus Pinedo, the newly-crowned PFL Featherweight king, will go toe-to-toe with Patricio Pitbull, a dominant force in Bellator. Pitbull, despite losing two straight fights, remains the current Featherweight champion and aims to add another title to his collection.
Middleweight Clash
In a unique twist, there is no current PFL champion at 185 pounds. Impa Kasanganay, the winner of this season’s Light Heavyweight belt, will drop down to the Middleweight division to challenge Bellator’s undefeated 185-pound champion, Johnny Eblen.
These four massive title fights are just the beginning. The event will also feature several showcase bouts, including Bellator Light Heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov moving up to face former champion Bruno Cappelozza. Additionally, MMA veteran Yoel Romero returns to action against ex-UFC stablemate Thiago Santos in a 205-pound bout. Former Bellator Featherweight champion A.J. McKee will take on Clay Collard at 155 pounds, rounding out the main card.
