Exciting Night of MMA Action: Fusion Fight League’s Fights Under the Lights
Get ready for an electrifying night of mixed martial arts action as Fusion Fight League presents its second annual Fights Under the Lights event. With an expected crowd of over 1,200, this event promises to be the ultimate showdown for local MMA athletes. Taking place on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Ogren-Allegiance Park in Missoula, Montana, this event was rescheduled from June due to injuries that forced many fighters to withdraw.
Last year’s event was a night to remember for Missoula’s Justin Harbison, who secured a victory by technical knockout in the first round of the heavyweight division. Harbison has since turned professional and will be featured in a co-main event, alongside Missoula’s featherweight sensation, Conall Powers, who will also be making his pro debut.
The fights are not just about individual glory, but also about representing their hometown. Matthew Powers, leader of the local Dogpound Fight Team, which Harbison and Conall Powers are a part of, emphasized the significance of fighting in front of their home crowd. He said, “They’re going out there and fighting for pride. What would give them more pride than to fight in front of their home crowd?”
The event will feature a total of nine fights, including amateur and professional bouts. Missoula’s Holden Kettenring will showcase his skills in an amateur lightweight bout, while Kaden Fallgreen from the Bitterroot Valley will also step into the cage. Butte’s Shawn Kline will be competing in an amateur bantamweight event.
The Fights Under the Lights event holds a special place in the hearts of local MMA fans. Matthew Powers expressed his delight at witnessing the growth of interest and knowledge of the sport in Montana. He said, “Montana, across the board, the interest is growing. The fans’ appreciation and knowledge of the sport is nice to see.”
The action-packed night will kick off with six amateur bouts, followed by three professional bouts. Among the professional matchups, Erik Teer will take on Austin Clayton in an 180-pound catchweight clash. Harbison will face Bryan Cromer, while Powers will go head-to-head with Eli Jamerson.
