Ghana Prepares for African Games

The Ghana Mixed Martial Arts Federation (GHAMMAF) is gearing up for the African Games in March 2024 by organizing a comprehensive training course for referees and first aiders. The two-day course, held at the Accra Sports Stadium, focused on educating participants about modern rules and techniques in mixed martial arts.

Enhancing Refereeing and Judging Skills

During the training, referees and judges were provided with in-depth knowledge about scoring methods and identifying fouls. The aim was to equip them with the necessary skills to ensure fair and accurate decision-making during the games.

First Aid Training

In addition to the referee and judging aspect, the course also included first aid training. Participants learned how to provide immediate support to individuals who may collapse or become unconscious during a match. This crucial knowledge will enable them to respond effectively and ensure the safety and well-being of the athletes.

Mixed Martial Arts at the African Games

The upcoming African Games, scheduled to take place from March 8 to 23, will feature mixed martial arts as one of the five demonstration sports. Alongside esports, speedball, sambo, and teqball, the sport aims to showcase the diverse talents and athleticism of Ghanaian athletes.
