Rhys McKee is set to make his highly anticipated return to the UFC after a successful run in Cage Warriors. The 27-year-old will face Ange Loosa at UFC Paris on September 2.
McKee, who previously had back-to-back losses against Khamzat Chimaev and Alex Morono, was released from the UFC in 2021. However, he made the most of his time away by competing in Cage Warriors and capturing the promotion’s welterweight title.
It was McKee’s impressive three-fight finishing streak in Cage Warriors that caught the attention of the UFC in 2020, leading to his initial signing. He continued his success in his second stint with the UK’s top regional promotion, defending his title against UFC and Bellator veteran Jim Wallhead.
Now, McKee is ready to prove himself once again in the UFC. His upcoming bout against Loosa, who holds a 1-1 record in the promotion, will be a crucial opportunity for him to make a statement.
In addition to the McKee vs. Loosa matchup, the UFC Paris card will also feature former strawweight titleholder Rose Namajunas making her flyweight debut against Manon Fiorot in the co-main event. The night’s headliner will see Ciryl Gane take on Serghei Spivac.
Stay tuned for more updates on Rhys McKee’s return to the UFC and his journey back to the top of the welterweight division.
