UFC has recently announced a partnership with Nellis Air Force Base to establish the first-ever MMA-branded training facility on a United States military base. The new training space, located inside the Warrior Fitness Center, will provide a dedicated area for over 11,000 airmen stationed at the base to train in mixed martial arts and self-defense.
Nellis Air Force Base, part of the U.S. Air Force’s Air Combat Command, covers a vast area of more than 14,000 acres, with additional airspace available for military flight operations. The base, situated approximately eight miles north of Las Vegas, has a rich history, initially serving as the Las Vegas Army Airfield in 1941.
The partnership between UFC and Nellis Air Force Base aims to enhance combat aviation training and promote physical fitness among the airmen. The UFC-branded training space will offer a comprehensive training experience, focusing on the fundamental elements of MMA and self-defense techniques.
UFC’s corporate social responsibility program, #UFCInTheCommunity, will also collaborate with partners, sponsors, and athletes to develop charitable programs and funding sources to support the local community.
