Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter Rodrigo Caporal, based in Hong Kong, is set to compete at the Pan American Championship in Kissimmee, Florida. Caporal, along with other fighters from his Espada Studio gym, will then turn their attention to the World Championship in Las Vegas. Caporal, a former purple belt world champion, is aiming for the top prize in Florida to add to his gold in the medium heavy division at the European Championship in Paris. He and his team are hoping for success with fighters from Hong Kong, France, America, the UK, and Australia. Caporal’s journey in combat sports began when he discovered Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a teenager. He has since risen to the top of his sport, earning his black belt in 2009. Caporal trains alongside his coach Nosherwan Khanzada, who competes in BJJ, MMA, and Muay Thai.
