Christian Lee’s New Gym and Coaching Plans
Last Friday, at ONE 167: Tawanchai vs. Nattawut II on Prime Video, Lee’s 18-year-old brother, Adrian “The Phenom” Lee, made his professional MMA debut in spectacular fashion. He submitted Italian standout Antonio Mammarella in the second round. Adrian’s fight kit reflected the Prodigy Training Center, the new Lee family gym. Christian Lee will reopen the gym in his late sister’s memory. After the fight, Christian Lee spoke about the decision to reopen and name the facility after late ONE superstar Victoria “The Prodigy” Lee. Lee explained, “Around two years ago, we closed the gym down, and since then, we decided to reopen. We talked about wanting to go back into the community to help people by teaching martial arts. So, we felt it was time to open our gym again, and we left United MMA behind, reopening as Prodigy Training Center, named after my late sister. We are excited to start classes officially the day after my brother’s fight. While the gym has a new name and new equipment, teaching martial arts is nothing new for the current ONE Lightweight and Welterweight MMA World Champion. Christian Lee, at just 25 years old, has already amassed a lifetime of MMA knowledge that he’s happy to pass on to young fighters, including his brother. Coaching full-time is the logical next step in his career. Christian Lee said, “Coaching is something I’m very comfortable doing. I’ve been coaching martial arts for over 10 years already, so definitely coaching will be my next position after fighting.”
