ONE Championship has announced the addition of four thrilling mixed martial arts bouts to the ONE 165: Rodtang vs. Takeru card, set to take place in Tokyo, Japan on January 28. This star-studded event will feature some of the top contenders in the sport.
As part of the lineup, two strawweight MMA bouts will provide clarity to the crowded list of contenders. Hiroba Minowa, ranked third, will face off against fourth-ranked Gustavo Balart, while second-ranked Bokang Masunyane will take on rising star Keito Yamakita.
Minowa will aim to halt Balart’s three-bout winning streak, while Masunyane, fresh off a victory, will try to hand Yamakita his first loss.
The winners of these bouts will position themselves as strong contenders for the title rematch between Jarred Brooks and Joshua Pacio, scheduled for ONE 166 on March 1.
Flyweight contenders Danny Kingad and Yuya Wakamatsu will also showcase their skills at Ariake Arena in their quest for a shot at the title.
Kingad, currently ranked second in the division, is looking to build on his impressive win over Eko Roni Saputra in February. He will face off against Wakamatsu, who secured a first-round victory over Xie Wei in July.
Additionally, two Japanese atomweights will captivate the audience as they aim to climb the ranks in the MMA division.
Itsuki Hirata, determined to bounce back from a decision loss to Ham Seo Hee in March, will go up against Ayaka Miura, who recently defeated Meng Bo in November. Miura’s move to a lower weight class may enhance her strength as a grappler.
Don’t miss ONE 165, airing live from Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday, January 28.
