COMBATE GLOBAL and Fuse have announced the return of women’s MMA sensation Lucero ‘La Loba’ Acosta. Acosta will be facing off against former world championship challenger Alejandra ‘Azul’ Lara in a three-round flyweight main event. The event will be live from Miami on Saturday, May 11, and will be airing on Fuse. In the co-main event, unbeaten rivals Mauricio Rios and Tony ‘The Conqueror’ Cortez will face off in a featherweight matchup. The event will also feature a welterweight showdown between Ovidio Bojorquez and Jimmie ‘Jimbo Slice’ Pace, Jr.

Exciting Women’s MMA Fight

COMBATE GLOBAL and Fuse have announced the highly anticipated return of women’s MMA sensation Lucero ‘La Loba’ Acosta. Acosta will be facing off against former world championship challenger Alejandra ‘Azul’ Lara in a three-round flyweight main event. The event will be live from Miami on Saturday, May 11, and will be airing on Fuse.

Acosta, 29 years old and fighting out of San Diego, has been on a winning streak, with three consecutive victories. Her most recent win was against Italy’s Manuela Marconetto, where she secured a KO in the second round on December 17, 2023.

Known as the ‘La Loba’, Acosta has become a formidable threat in the MMA world since teaming up with veteran trainer Nestor Flores in 2022. Her content on social media platforms has garnered millions of views.

Lara, also 29 years old and fighting out of San Diego, is looking to reignite her career after relocating to the city and joining 10th Planet San Diego Jiu Jitsu and Training Center. She has been training with MMA superstars Phil Davis and Cat Zingano.

Lara has faced off against top opponents, including a challenge for the Bellator women’s world flyweight title against Ilima-Lei Macfarlane. She also defeated Muay Thai world champion Lena Ovchynnikova via submission in 2018.

This fight between ‘La Loba’ and ‘Azul’ Lara is expected to be the most watched women’s fight in MMA history, according to COMBATE GLOBAL CEO Campbell McLaren.

In the co-main event, unbeaten rivals Mauricio Rios and Tony ‘The Conqueror’ Cortez will face off in a featherweight matchup. Rios, a member of the Bonebreakers fight squad, has earned three of his four professional wins by submission. Cortez, on a 10-fight win streak, aims to keep his perfect record intact.

The event will also feature a welterweight showdown between Ovidio Bojorquez and Jimmie ‘Jimbo Slice’ Pace, Jr. Bojorquez, known for his knockout power, looks to improve his record with another thrilling victory. Pace, Jr., a former football player, has secured all of his wins by (T)KO or submission.
