Mikey Musumeci Commends Jarred Brooks for Taking on New Challenge
In a thrilling champion-versus-champion clash at ONE Fight Night 13 , Mikey Musumeci, the ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion, faced off against Jarred Brooks, the strawweight mixed martial arts king. Despite ultimately retaining his title with a triangle/armbar submission, Musumeci expressed admiration for Brooks’ willingness to step out of his comfort zone and embrace new challenges. The Italian-American world champion commended Brooks for his warrior spirit and expressed his respect for him.
In the fight, Musumeci quickly took control, countering Brooks’ aggressive game plan. However, the strawweight MMA champion showed resilience and survived Musumeci’s early attacks. Undeterred, Musumeci continued to press forward and eventually secured a tight triangle choke, followed by an armbar, leading to the end of the contest at the 7:30 mark.
This victory marked Musumeci’s third successful defense of his world title, which he won in September of last year. On the other hand, Brooks suffered his first defeat in five fights within ONE Championship.
