PFL founder Donn Davis has revealed that former UFC star Nate Diaz has been offered a staggering $10-15 million to step inside the Smart Cage and face social media sensation Jake Paul. This comes after Diaz’s professional boxing debut against Paul earlier this year, where the YouTuber-turned-boxer emerged victorious in a ten-round battle. The Professional Fighters League is hoping to host a rematch between the two fighters in 2024, but it seems that Diaz is hesitant to accept the challenge.
In an interview with The MMA Hour, Davis expressed his frustration with Diaz’s reluctance to sign the contract. He stated, ‘If we could ever put together Jake vs. Nate… If Nate would stop weaseling out and complaining about an MMA fight with Jake. Something like that to put the mind of Jake Paul, creatively, against the technology available. Wow. So, it’s not just about the spectacle of the circle. That’s ten percent of it. The creative technology of the graphics and the engagement and the immersion is 90 percent. So you need to put creative minds against it. Not just a great event.’
Davis further emphasized that Diaz has a standing offer of $10-15 million to fight Paul in the PFL. He called Diaz the ‘people’s champ’ and praised his character, but criticized him for hiding behind excuses. Diaz had reportedly earned $500,000 for his previous fight with Paul, but with the potential pay-per-view revenue, this offer could be the biggest payday of his career.
The ball is now in Diaz’s court. Will he accept the challenge and step out from behind the rock? Only time will tell.
