Murray began by addressing the future plans for the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and the departure of Kayla Harrison from the promotion. He then shifted the focus to ‘The Predator’ and revealed that they are expecting Ngannou to compete in the PFL in 2024, following his upcoming boxing clash against Anthony Joshua.
The PFL CEO mentioned an upcoming event on Feb. 24, where Renan Ferreira and Ryan Bader are scheduled to face off in the PFL vs. Bellator event. Murray hinted that the winner of this fight could potentially be Ngannou’s first opponent in his PFL debut.
Expressing his excitement about Ngannou’s return, Murray stated, "Yeah, we’re excited about Francis returning to the cage. Francis, right now, is obviously focused on a major event… against ‘AJ’. After that, we’ll put the finishing touches on Francis, his opponent, the timing. So, we’re excited about making that fight happen this year… Whether Renan or Bader, the winner taking the man on the mountain and we’ll see. That’s certainly an option. There are other options that we’re weighing."
