The UFC’s first pay-per-view event of 2024 is set to feature an exciting main event matchup between Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis. Strickland, the reigning middleweight champion, will defend his title for the first time against du Plessis, a formidable challenger.
In the co-main event, Raquel Pennington and Mayra Bueno Silva will battle for the vacant bantamweight title. Both fighters successfully made weight at the official morning weigh-ins.
Unfortunately, the preliminary portion of the card encountered some issues. Ramon Taveras missed weight for his debut fight against Serhiy Sidey, and Malcolm Gordon missed weight for the second time in a row. Despite these setbacks, the bouts will proceed as scheduled with Taveras and Gordon forfeiting a percentage of their purses to their opponents.
Before the weigh-ins, Priscila Cachoeira had difficulty cutting down to the flyweight limit, resulting in her bout against Jasmine Jasudavicius being changed to a bantamweight bout. Both fighters successfully weighed in for the matchup.
