Former UFC Welterweight champion Pat Miletich is making a comeback after 15 years in retirement. He will face Mike Jackson in a highly-anticipated MMA match on October 14, 2023.
In a surprising turn of events, former UFC Welterweight champion Pat Miletich is set to end his 15-year retirement and step back into the octagon. Miletich will face off against Mike Jackson at a Caged Aggression MMA event on October 14, 2023.
The matchup between Miletich and Jackson is a 175-pound Catchweight bout, scheduled for three five-minute rounds. Despite the random pairing, there is history between the two fighters. Miletich, 55, previously cornered Jackson, 38, in his second UFC fight back in 2018.
Since then, a rivalry has developed between the two fighters, with online banter and exchanges. The tension escalated after Miletich shared his involvement in the January 2021 Washington, D.C. protest. Now, they will finally settle their differences inside the cage.
This will be Miletich’s first MMA fight since his second-round knockout victory against Thomas Denny on the Illinois regional scene. Although he has competed in a kickboxing match in July 2020, where he suffered a split decision loss to Michael Nunn, Miletich is eager to return to his roots in MMA.
On the other hand, Jackson is best known for his UFC 225 fight against Phil ‘CM Punk’ Brooks, with Miletich in his corner. Jackson initially won the fight by unanimous decision, but it was later overturned due to a positive marijuana test. He has since had two more fights in the UFC, winning by disqualification and then suffering a first-round knockout.
This highly-anticipated matchup between two MMA veterans is sure to draw attention from fight fans around the world. Both Miletich and Jackson have a point to prove and will leave it all in the cage on October 14.
