Charles Oliveira’s Verdict on Conor McGregor Exchange
Conor McGregor, in his ongoing campaign to call out top lightweights, recently had an exchange with Charles Oliveira. The former UFC lightweight champions have engaged in back-and-forth banter in the past, with Oliveira standing his ground.
During an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Oliveira provided an update on the situation with McGregor. Through translator and UFC Octagon girl Luciana Andrade, Oliveira expressed his willingness to fight McGregor, stating, "All he needs to do is tell me the place and the time, and I’ll be there." While Oliveira believes McGregor wants the fight, he emphasized that it’s up to McGregor to commit to it.
Oliveira also mentioned that he is open to fighting McGregor at any weight class up to 185 lbs. Despite his interest in the fight, Oliveira acknowledged that he has other priorities at the moment.
Replacement Opponent Revealed for Anthony Joshua
After the cancellation of the Dillian Whyte rematch, Anthony Joshua has found a new opponent for his upcoming fight at the O2 Arena in London. Joshua was originally scheduled to face Whyte, but Whyte was pulled from the contest due to ‘adverse analytical findings’ in a VADA drug test.
Joshua will now face 39-year-old Robert Helenius (32-4) on Saturday night. Helenius, who recently secured a rebound victory, is known for his clash with Deontay Wilder last October. Joshua will need a dominant performance to avoid criticism for this match-up.
