UFC Returns to Anaheim Complications for Fighters
The UFC is making its return to Anaheim this weekend. However, fighters may face complications due to drug tests and cannabis use. The California State Athletic Commission will be conducting drug tests during the event, and if THC is detected above the allowed limit, it will be considered a failed test. Despite cannabis being removed from the banned substances list, fighters are advised to discontinue its use to avoid failing the test. If a fighter does test positive, they will face a fine of $100.

UFC Returns to Anaheim

Mixed martial arts fans are eagerly anticipating the return of the UFC to Anaheim this weekend. However, the event may come with some complications for the fighters.

According to a report by SB Nation’s MMA Fighting site, the California State Athletic Commission will be conducting drug tests during the event. If THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis, is detected at a level above 150 nanograms per milliliter, it will be considered a failed test.

This news comes just weeks after the UFC removed cannabis from its banned substances list. It is worth noting that cannabis use is legal for adult recreational purposes in California.

Despite the recent changes, fighters have been advised to immediately discontinue the use of cannabis to avoid failing the drug test. A report by Marijuana Moment highlights this recommendation.

In the event that a fighter does test positive for THC, they will reportedly face a fine of only $100.

UFC 298: Volkanovski vs Topuria is scheduled to take place this Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
