With a remarkable record of 19 knockouts, Silva holds the title for the most knockouts in major MMA history across organizations such as the UFC, Strikeforce, Pride, and WEC.

During his time in Pride FC, Silva achieved great success. He secured the middleweight championship in 2001 and held onto it until 2007. Silva also emerged victorious in the Pride 2003 Middleweight Grand Prix, defeating Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in the finals.
