McGregor, 35, expressed his excitement for what he calls the ‘greatest comeback of all time.’ In a video message, he stated, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, a Happy New Year to you all. I would like to announce the return date for myself. The greatest comeback of all time will take place in Las Vegas for International Fight Week on June 29th. My opponent will be Michael Chandler, and the weight class will be 185lb.’

Since his leg injury in 2021 during his trilogy series with Dustin Poirier, McGregor has been absent from the Octagon.
