Will Kevin Holland Be the Next BMF Title Contender? Chiesa Believes So

Michael Chiesa, the UFC’s #12-ranked welterweight contender, sees potential in his upcoming opponent, Kevin Holland. Despite being on a two-fight losing streak, Chiesa believes that Holland could be a perfect candidate to fight for the UFC’s BMF title in the future.

Chiesa, also known as ‘Maverick,’ is determined to get back on track after suffering losses to Vicente Luque and Sean Brady. His upcoming welterweight bout against Holland at UFC 291 will serve as the opening fight of an exciting main card.

While the night’s headlining bout between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje is already highly anticipated, it also holds the significance of being the second BMF title fight in UFC history. As a result, much of the pre-fight discussion leading up to UFC 291 has revolved around potential contenders for the BMF title.

During a discussion with Daniel Cormier and Ryan Clark on ESPN MMA’s DC & RC show, Chiesa was asked about his top pick from the UFC roster for a BMF title fight. Surprisingly, Chiesa named Kevin Holland as his choice.

Chiesa praised Holland for his availability and willingness to take on any fight, regardless of weight class. He believes that although things may not go well for Holland in their upcoming bout, he could potentially become the third person to fight for the BMF title in the future.

The matchup between Holland and Chiesa is set to take place on the main card of UFC 291.
