A highly anticipated event is set to take place on Friday night at Bellator 298 in Sioux Falls, S.D. Two former Minnesota wrestlers, Logan Storley and Michael Blockhus, will be showcasing their skills in the octagon.

The main event of the evening will feature a welterweight bout between No. 1 ranked Logan Storley and No. 7 ranked Brennan Ward. Storley, a four-time All-American during his time at Minnesota, has an impressive record of 14-2. He will be looking to prove himself once again as he takes on Ward, who holds a record of 17-6.

Storley had an outstanding collegiate career, finishing with an overall record of 119-27. He was known for his dominance in duals, boasting a 47-7 mark, and his success in Big Ten matchups with a record of 27-3. Storley’s achievements include a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships as a junior, fourth-place finishes as both a sophomore and senior, and a sixth-place finish as a freshman.

In the prelims, fans will have the opportunity to witness Michael Blockhus make his professional debut in mixed martial arts . Blockhus, who previously competed for the Gophers, will be facing off against Eli Mefford, who currently holds a record of 0-4. Blockhus concluded his collegiate career with a notable eighth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, earning him his first career All-America honors. Throughout his redshirt senior season, Blockhus showcased his skills with a commendable 21-8 record as the Gophers’ starter at 149 pounds. After transferring from Northern Iowa, Blockhus finished his Minnesota career with a record of 47-31 and made three trips to the NCAAs.

Both Storley and Blockhus continue to train with Kill Cliff Fight Club, based in Deerfield Beach, Fla. Their dedication and hard work have prepared them for this moment, and they are eager to showcase their skills in the Bellator 298 event.
