Jake Paul’s Continued Desire for MMA Fights

Jake Paul, the former Disney star turned celebrity boxer, has expressed his ongoing interest in facing off against Jorge Masvidal or Nate Diaz in a mixed martial arts (MMA) bout at the PFL. Despite easily defeating Diaz in a boxing match last year, Paul has offered a $10 million MMA rematch at the PFL, which has not been accepted by the former BMF competitor. The hesitation to accept the offer is reportedly due to fear of angering UFC CEO Dana White.

Paul remains serious about his desire to fight Masvidal or Diaz in MMA and has stated that the offer is still on the table. In addition to the UFC stars, the offer extends to other MMA fighters such as Sean Strickland and Paddy Pimblett, with whom Paul has engaged in online exchanges. However, none of these fighters have taken up the challenge, leaving the offer unanswered.

It is worth noting that Masvidal and Diaz are preparing for their upcoming boxing match, a rematch of their UFC 244 BMF title bout, which was stopped due to Diaz’s facial cuts. As a result, the two fighters, who are currently not on the UFC roster, have opted for a boxing rematch instead of an MMA fight. This decision has disappointed some fans who were hoping to see them compete in the octagon once again.

Meanwhile, the announcement of Paul’s upcoming fight against Mike Tyson has caused significant controversy. Despite Tyson’s retirement nearly two decades ago, he remains one of the most popular martial artists in the world. At the age of 58, Tyson will face Paul in the ring, while also dealing with various health issues that he has openly discussed on his ‘Hotboxin’ podcast. In contrast, Paul is in his athletic prime at 27 years old and has fought three times in the past year, winning two of those bouts.

Given the significant age and athletic differences between the two fighters, the upcoming bout is not expected to be competitive. Even Jake Paul’s brother, Logan Paul, has criticized the fight, deeming Tyson too old to compete. Unsurprisingly, the MMA community is expressing its discontent and anger towards the July 20 contest, as it is likely to be one-sided and lacking in true competition.
