In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Johnson expressed his excitement about not knowing who he will face in the tournament. He sees it as a true test of a martial artist, as it eliminates the need for game study and homework.
"I don’t know who I’m facing and I love it. No game study. No homework. The reason why I love that is because it tests the true martial artist," Johnson said.
Johnson, a former UFC flyweight world champion, is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time. His grappling-heavy offensive style has earned him numerous victories throughout his career, with eight wins coming by way of submission.
