It has been reported that Leon Edwards is expected to defend his welterweight title at UFC 300 . This comes after his recent successful defense against Colby Covington in the main event of UFC 296. While there were rumors of Conor McGregor headlining the historic event, his announcement of a fight against Michael Chandler has likely debunked those rumors.

The opponent slated to face Edwards at UFC 300 is Belal Muhammad, although Shavkat Rakhmonov was also in the mix. While Edwards has the star power for the main event, Muhammad’s lack of aura may prevent the matchup from taking the top spot.
