Tom Aspinall’s Future in MMA and Boxing
Tom Aspinall, the interim UFC heavyweight champion, is focused on proving himself in the world of mixed martial arts. While he hasn’t completely ruled out stepping into the boxing ring, his main goal is to be the best UFC heavyweight champion of all time. Aspinall believes that if there’s enough money involved, he would consider facing WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in a boxing match, similar to Francis Ngannou’s crossover last year. However, Aspinall wants to finish his career in the UFC and acknowledges that he still has a lot more work to do in the promotion. In terms of Fury crossing over to MMA, Aspinall thinks the undefeated boxer could do well but doesn’t give him or any other boxer much of a chance against himself in an MMA cage due to the vast difference in grappling experience. Aspinall has been grappling competitively since he was 18 years old, giving him a significant advantage over boxers transitioning to MMA. He believes it would take years for someone like Fury to catch up with his grappling skills, making it nearly impossible for them to compete against him in that aspect. Aspinall’s dedication to his craft and his desire to be the best in the UFC is evident, and while he remains open to opportunities outside of MMA, his focus remains on his career in the octagon.
